Le Vigne Winery wins two ‘Winery of the Year’ awards in one week

Winery honored by both Central Coast and New York competitions

– Le Vigne Winery has earned two prestigious Winery of the Year awards in just five days. The estate winery in Paso Robles was named Winery of the Year by both the Central Coast Wine Competition and the New York International Wine Competition.

On June 19, the Central Coast Wine Competition announced Le Vigne Winery as its 2025 Winery of the Year. The winery earned two Best in Class Medals for its 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon di Domenico and 2024 Rosé of Sangiovese, as well as three Double Gold Medals for the 2024 Rosé of Sangiovese, 2022 Malbec di Domenico, and 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon di Acquarello. Additionally, Le Vigne received five Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals, and one Bronze Medal. The Central Coast Wine Competition, now in its 23rd year, is the largest competition focused exclusively on wines from California’s Central Coast. This year, over 400 wines were submitted by wineries from regions including Paso Robles, Monterey, Santa Lucia Highlands, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Santa Barbara County. Le Vigne Winery is only the 10th winery in the competition’s history to win Winery of the Year.

Just four days later, on June 23, the New York International Wine Competition named Le Vigne Winery Paso Robles Winery of the Year. The competition, which drew entries from over 1,400 wines from more than 24 countries, awarded the winery multiple medals. Le Vigne’s 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon di Domenico earned a Double Gold Medal and 96 points, while the 2021 Paso Sangiovese won a Gold Medal with 95 points, and the 2022 Petite Sirah di Domenico received a Silver Medal with 93 points.

Sylvia Filippini, who owns Le Vigne Winery with her husband Chef Walter Filippini, commented on the awards: “These results are a vindication of the winery’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and the highest quality of winemaking. Our goal has always been to bottle the best quality rather than quantity of wine.”
